Maldives records 4th Covid-19 death within 24hrs

Malé, Maldives – Additional person has passed way from Lh. Naifaru due to Covid-19.

According to Lh. Atoll Hospital, the deceased is a 97 year old woman who was found to be Covid-19 positive after she passed away although her sample was taken three days ago.

With this, the total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country has risen to 78. The deceased are 70 Maldivian nationals, 6 Bangladeshi nationals, a Filipino national and two Indian nationals.

While Maldives recorded the highest number of daily Covid-19 cases since the pandemic hit the tiny island nation with 734 cases yesterday, the total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in the country has reached 32,665 out of which 25,473 patients have made full recoveries, as of 18:00 of May 5, 2021. Currently the total number of active cases in the country stands at 7,109.
