Malé, Maldives – Health Protection Agency (HPA) has just confirmed that yesterday at 23:15 an 83 year-old Maldivian female brought to IGMH emergency the day before had passed away due to Covid-19.
While the island nation has recorded 9 deaths within the past 48 hours, the total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country has risen to 83.
While Maldives recorded the highest number of daily Covid-19 cases since the pandemic hit the island nation with 766 cases yesterday, the total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in the country has reached 34,134 out of which 25,782 patients have made full recoveries, as of 18:00 of May 7, 2021. Currently the total number of active cases in the country stands at 8,261 with 205 people admitted in hospitals.
