Covid-19: Fuvahmulah City under curfew with 17 cases

Fuvahmulah City , Maldives – Fuvahmulah Emergency Operation Center informs that there are 17 active cases in the city.

The 17 cases include 8 high risk individuals and 3 above the age of 65.

Curfew was imposed on Fuvahmulah City yesterday, following contact tracing procedures after two people who visited the flu clinic tested positive for Covid-19.

17 homes are under quarantine while 46 direct contacts were discovered.

The public is prohibited from going outside from 21:00 to 04:00 for a week starting from 7 May 2021.

While 766 cases were recorded yesterday, 571 were from the Malé area, and 171 cases were recorded from inhabited islands. The figures also included 23 cases from operational resorts and 01 cases from industrial islands which brought up the total active cases in the country to 8,261.

With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in the country has reached 34,134 out of which 25,782 patients have made full recoveries, as of 18:00 of May 7, 2021.
