Covid-19: 38 active cases in Fuvahmulah City

Fuvahmulah City, Maldives – Fuvahmulah Hospital informs that there are 38 active cases in the city.

17 positive cases were recorded yesterday with 73 direct contacts. 85 samples have been collected for Covid-19 testing.

The hospital revealed that a large percentage of the patients are symptomatic, and urged the public to take all safety precautions.

Curfew was imposed on Fuvahmulah City on May 7, following contact tracing procedures after two people who visited the flu clinic tested positive for Covid-19 on 6 May 2021.

The public is prohibited from going outside from 21:00 to 04:00 for a week starting from 7 May 2021.

According to the latest statistics, 1,204 cases were recorded yesterday, of which 961 were from the Malé area, while 235 cases were recorded from inhabited islands. The figures also included 08 cases from operational resorts which has brought up the total active cases in the country to 10,376.

With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in the country has reached 37,019 out of which 26,547 patients have made full recoveries, as of 18:00 of May 10, 2021. Currently there are 244 patients receiving hospitalized care for the virus throughout the country.
