Covid-19: No new cases recorded in Kulhudhuffushi in past two days

Kulhudhuffushi, Maldives – Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital (KRH) has reported that no Covid-19 cases have been recorded in the city in the past two days.

According to KRH, they had collected 53 samples over the course of the past two days which have all tested negative.

While the island has 10 active cases till date, the island has been placed under monitoring after an individual who has consulted the flu clinic of the island tested positive for Covid-19 on May 11.

According to Health Protection Agency (HPA), there are 48 islands in the island nation which are currently under monitoring status as the fourth wave of the virus has hit hard on the nation.

While Covid-19 cases has been on a rise recently, Maldives has recorded over 1,000 daily cases for the past four days with 1,216 cases recorded yesterday as well.

In the statistics released by HPA, it was detailed that out of the 1,216 cases, 1,013 were from the Malé area, while 201 cases were recorded from inhabited islands. The figures also included 01 case from operational resorts and another case from live aboard which brought up the total active cases in the country to 13,784.

With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in the country has reached 41,308 out of which 27,428 patients have made full recoveries, as of 18:00 of May 13, 2021.
