No intention of postponing HSC exam: Minister Aishath Ali

Malé, Maldives – Eduction Minster of Maldives, Dr. Aishath Ali has informed that the ministry currently has no intention of postponing the HSC exam.

While speaking at the Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) press conference held yesterday, Minister Aishath stated that the ministry always try to work towards the welfare of the students and that holding the exams on the date currently scheduled is the best thing for students in all possible ways so they will be more eased for the upcoming exams on October.

HEOC had earlier announced that the exams have been scheduled to be held from June 13 till June 17. However, as multiple islands are currently under monitoring status due to the worsening Covid-19 situation in the country, online classes and some exams are being carried out through online portals.

As the HSC exam can be postponed by the ministry, several parents have been calling out to postpone the examination and to give the students the appropriate amount of time to prepare for their exams. However, Minister Aishath stated that the ministry will always try to work towards the welfare of the students and that they have no intention of postponing the HSC exams yet.
