Maldivian students in Malaysia to sit this year’s SSC exams

Malaysia – The Education Ministry held a ceremony on Tuesday to announce the inauguration of Secondary School Certificate exams in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Education Ministry informs that six Maldivian students will be sitting SSC exams for Dhivehi and Islamic Studies from 1 to 6 June 2022. Exam Officers have now been trained in preparation for the exams.

Speaking at the event, Education Minister Aishath Ali highlighted that despite growing up in a foreign country, it is imperative to teach the students the Maldivian culture, language and religion.

An Islamic upbringing and the Dhivehi language are two pillars of being Maldivian.

The Ministry plans to provide the relevant textbooks for students and during the meeting discussed the challenges faced in teaching students the two Dhivehi subjects conducted in Dhivehi language.
