Covid-19: 100 year old man passes away!

Malé, Maldives – Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported that a 100 year old Maldivian male has passed away due to Covid-19.

According to HPA the person who was being treated at DH11 facility in Dharumavantha Hospital had passed away at 09:33 this morning bringing the nations total deaths due to the virus to 187.

While the daily number of cases have dropped significantly in the past couple of day, in the statistics released by HPA, it was detailed that out of the 412 cases reported yesterday, 239 were from the Malé area, while 162 cases were recorded from inhabited islands. The figures also included 11 case from operational resorts which brought the total active cases in the country to 19,670.

With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in the country has reached 67,950 out of which 48,086 patients have made full recoveries, as of 18:00 of June 6, 2021.
