Gaaf Dhaal Atoll, Maldives —The positive Covid-19 cases has increased to 315 in Thinadhoo.
Latest statistics released by Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital show that 56 samples were taken over the past 24 hours, out of which, three samples tested positive for Covid-19. While they have taken a total of 3,854 samples from the island, results for 124 samples awaits.
From the 315 positive cases that have been confirmed from Thinadhoo, statistics showed that 399 contacts were found while tracing.
So far 184 people have completely recovered from the virus from the island, while five people are receiving care at the facility in Thinadhoo.
Thinadhoo was placed under monitering status on April 25, 2021 after residents from the island started testing positive for Covid-19. As the amount of positive cases have been rising since then, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) imposed several restrictions in the island.
These include of closing in-dine services in hotels and restaurants until further notice, meanwhile they are allowed to provide delivery and takeaway services to the customers. HPA also advised shops to avoid using cash and to encourage online transfer to avoid getting contacted.
Gyms, exercise classes, beauty and hair salons along with all sports courts and parks have been closed until further notice.
