Malé, Maldives – The Finance Ministry announced that financial executives will have to take a special test to determine whether they are familiar with the Financial Act and the regulations set under it, before employing them.

The Finance Ministry released a circular saying that the Ministry has started a programme to ensure that the financial executives of the authority are thorough and familiar with the Financial Act of Maldives and know the regulations set under the act, as part of the Ministry’s efforts to further strengthen the financial system of the country.

The Ministry stated in their circular that the designated financial executives will have to take a special exam prepared by the Ministry prior to appointment.

In addition to this, financial heads of state authorities must also complete the exam and obtain a certificate before being appointed to the posts. They noted that current such employees must complete the exam and obtain the certificate before August 21.

The Ministry will also specify certain posts in the financial system for which an applicant should have obtained the aforementioned certificate, and will publish such details before October 1st.
