  • France draw against Hungary
  • Germany thrash Portugal 4-2
  • No teams qualified for the Round of 16, everything to be decided on Wednesday

The UEFA Euro 2020’s group of death, Group F showed incredible drama as France held back by Hungary, followed up by a 4-2 thrashing of Portugal by Germany.

As it stands, with today 1-1 draw against Hungary, France tops the table with 4 points. Fiola’s goal in the extra minutes of the first half was cancelled by Anotinne Griezmann in the 66th minute. Wasteful France paid heavily as Hungary sat back and strengthened their defense.

Germany had a rocky start to the game against Portugal. Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 15th minute, ruining a perfect tempo held by the Germans.

However, two quick own goals by Portugal’s Ruben Dias and Raphael Guerrera turned the tides for Joachim Low’s side as Germany ended the first half with taking the lead.

Germany were once again the better team in the second half as Kai Havertz and Robin Gosens scored two more goals in quick succession.

Diogo Jota turned inside a ball Ronaldo whipped into the goal on the side line, giving the Portuguese one back, however, that wasn’t enough to take the three points.

As of now, no team has qualified for the round of 16 from this group. With Portugal and Germany each have three points, everything is left for the final game day of this group.

Portugal will play against France while Germany will play against Hungary on Wednesday night.
