Malé, Maldives – The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies (FHTS) of Maldives National University (MNU) has been nominated for the Indian Ocean’s Best Culinary Training Institution in the World Culinary Awards.
This nomination marks the first such nomination for a Maldivian institution. Three other culinary institutions of two countries were also nominated in the same category. This includes last year’s winner Olivier Culinary School of Mauritius.
The voting for the awards is now open and will continue until September 17th. Voters can vote through this link.
Aminath Shaanee, a lecturer at the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies said that this nomination is an honour not only for the faculty itself, but also the entire nation. She encouraged as many people as possible to vote for the Maldivian institution to secure the award.
The Indian Ocean’s Best Culinary Training Institution award was introduced last year by the World Travel Awards specially aimed for the culinary industry.
