Former Pres. Yameen not involved in another political party: PPM

Malé, Maldives – The opposition party, Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) said that Former President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayyoom has not initiated another political party and that he does not have any intention to do so.

The statement from PPM comes during a time when the Former President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayyoom’s name is being used by some for political gain. The party encourages their supporters to not get involved in these conversations.

PPM said in their statement, that Former President Yameen will not work with any other political party except PPM and People’s National Congress (PNC) and that he does not have any intention of doing so either.

The party stressed that Former President Yameen does not have the intention of initiating another political party, and encouraged their supporters to not get involved in the activities of those using the Former President’s name for their own political gain.
