Despite creating the majority amount of chances, the Azzurri were wasteful in the regular time of the match. Without a goal the match carried on to extra time. Chiesa scored five minutes into the extra time with Pessina adding another 10 minutes later.
Austria’s Kalajdzic gave them a late consolation goal in the 114th minute of the game. Austria played brilliantly throughout the game, as their fans proudly applauded the teams performance after final whistle.
