Covid-19: GDh. Faresmaathoda controls virus within a month

Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, Maldives – GDh. Faresmaathoda controls the spread of Covid-19 within a month since their first case was recorded on May 29.

Statistics from Faresmaathoda hospital shows that out of the 60 people who tested positive for Covid-19 in the island, 58 have completely recovered as of last night. Now, there are only two active Covid-19 cases remaining in the island.

With the increase in recovery cases, local media outlet “Gaafu” informs that the authorities are preparing to lift the monitoring status placed in the island along with easing majority of the restrictions as well.

It has been eight days since Faresmaathoda recorded a new case of Covid-19, the last person to test positive for Covid-19 in Faresmaathoda was on June 20. Faresmaathoda recorded its first ever case on May 29, after an individual that consulted to the flu clinic in the island tested positive for the virus.
