Spain through to the Semis

Spain becomes the first team to reach the semi finals in the UEFA Euro 2020.

Spain beat Switzerland on penalties after extra times ended 1 goal each. Swiss defender Zakaria own goal gave Spain the lead in the opening 10 minutes. Shaqiri equalized on the 68th minute, but soon afterwards Swiss were down to 10 men after direct red card on Freuler.

Swiss defended well forcing the match to go into extras. Spain were close to turning the tides again but Swiss keeper Yann Sommers stood tall.

Captain Sergio Busquets missed the opening penalty. Gavranovic scored the opener for Swiss but the three players after him failed to score for their country. Olmo and Moreno scored but Rodri missed for Spain. However, Swiss players failing to take advantage, Oyarzabal scored the final penalty, sending the two time Euro winners to the semi finals.
