Malé, Maldives – Health Protection Agency (HPA) has opened up online appointments for people who have not received the second dose of Covishield vaccine after receiving the first.

HPA said that the current appointments are open for those who received the first dose between February 1st and March 15th. They added those who received the first dose early will be prioritised.

The QueueBee app can be used to get a token and check the queue status online. Physical tokens will not be given on site. The tokens are released for vaccination stations at Social Centre, Islamic Centre and Art Gallery. A total of 590 tokens will be issued in the morning and another 590 in the afternoon.

The administration of Covishield vaccine was previously stopped on May 4th due to the depleting amount of doses in the country. However, with the availability of more doses, Maldives has commenced vaccine administration once again.

People who are going to get the vaccine are requested to bring their national identity card and vaccination card. HPA also advises the public to eat well before getting the vaccine and wear clothing which will be easy to administer the vaccine in.
