Male’, Maldives – National flag carrier of France, Air France has announced that they will be beginning operation of Colombo-Male flights from November 1, 2021, onwards.
The airline stated that from November 1st of this year, they will start operating flights to Colombo, Sri Lanka with three weekly frequencies as a continuation of the flight to Malé (Maldives) using their Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
Air France also informed their interested customers that they are currently offering fully modifiable tickets for travel until 31 December 2021 as part of their commercial policy. With this, customers can change their reservation free of charge or request a refundable credit voucher if they no longer wish to travel.
In addition to this, Air France stated that if the flight is cancelled by the airline, customers also have the choice to postpone their trip and to request a full ticket refund or a credit voucher, which can also be refundable if it is unused.
France contributed to 5 percent of the total source market share for the Maldives tourism by end of December 2020 with 28,031 tourists arriving from France.
While the Maldives faced a third Covid-19 wave over the past month, the country has been slowly recovering from one of the worst waves since its first case of community spread in April 2020. The latest statistics from the Tourism Ministry show that the Maldives has recorded over 500،406 tourist arrivals so far in 2021.
