Covid-19: EOC eases major restrictions in Addu City

Malé, Maldives – Addu Emergency Operation Center (AEOC) on Friday night, announced additional measures to be eased within the city, following the decreased number of Covid-19 cases.

Speaking at last night’s press conference, Deputy Mayor of Addu City Mohamed Shuaau announced the eases in the Covid-19 measures. This includes allowing allowing restaurants and cafés to give out dine in services from 8:00 to 18:00. Restaurants and cafés can also give delivery services till 22:00.

In addition to this, AEOC announced that they are allowing sports activities within the island. Sports can be played between 15:00 to 18:00 in the designated areas. However, AEOC has not yet given approval for sports competitions.

Salons, gyms and barber shops are also now allowed to provide services from 8:00 to 18:00. The authority advised barber shops to provide services using an appointment regulation.

All locals and service providers are advised to strictly obey HPA guidelines when giving out the aforementioned services or receiving them. Irresponsibility may worsen the current situation.
