COVID-19: Death toll rises to 214

Heath Protection Agency on Sunday revealed that the COVID-19 death toll has reached 214 in Maldives.

As per the agency, the latest fatality was a 59-year-old Maldivian female. She was admitted at Shaviyani Covid Management Facility and was declared dead at 0305hrs.

After experiencing the worst surge of COVID-19 in May, Maldives has been slowly recovering. Authorities have been easing up the stringent measures implemented at the time to curb the virus, as the number of cases declined.

Currently, Maldives has recorded 74,993 positive cases, of which 2,661 are currently active, and 72,118 people made full recoveries.
