Tourist arrested with bullets remanded for 3 days

Malé, Maldives – The tourist from Namibia who was arrested at Velana International Airport for possession of bullets, has been remanded for 3 days.

Maldives Police Service informed that the tourist was presented to the Criminal Court yesterday, where he was remanded in custody for 3 days.

Maldives Police Service on Saturday, announced that bullets were confiscated from a tourist at Velana International Airport (VIA). A security officer at VIA said giving information to local media Hathaavees, that the bullets were found from the tourist during his security check.

Maldives Police Service informed that the complaint was lodged at 09:52 that morning and that the tourist is a 60 year old male from Namibia. Police is investigating further into the case.
