Addu City locals express concern over council plans to claim land

Malé, Maldives – Addu City locals have submitted an emergency case to the council, expressing concern over their decision to claim land from the western and eastern sides of Addu Equatorial Hospital.

According to information received by local news outlet “Addulive”, 4 people have submitted complaints to the council regarding their decision, requesting to review it.

The Addu City Council on Saturday, passed to claim 42 pieces of land around Addu Equatorial Hospital. Councillor for Hulhudhoo Constituency Hussain Faiz is the only councillor who voted against the decision. Councillor for Meedhoo Constituency did not take part in the vote.

The motion to claim the land surrounding AEH was presented to the council by Deputy Mayor Mohamed Shuaau. It has not yet been announced whether the complaints from the locals have beeb scheduled for today’s council meeting.
