Gaafu Duaalu Atoll, Maldives – Daily Covid-19 cases in GDh. Nadella increases with the island surpassing 100 active cases within just a few weeks.
Local news reports from GDh. Nadella inform that so far today, 14 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Nadella taking the total confirmed cases in the small island to 106. Out of which, 103 active cases still remain, while three people completely recovered from the virus.
An elderly individual from Nadella who tested positive for Covid-19 has been transported to Thinadhoo Covid-19 facility for further care and strict measures have been imposed in the island due to the increasing number of daily Covid-19 cases.
GDh. Nadella has been under monitoring status since July 13 after a number of Covid-19 cases were recorded from the island.
Maldives recently saw the biggest wave of Covid-19 to have hit the country since the pandemic began with a record number of daily cases. Alarmingly, the most recent case numbers indicate a higher positive rate in the islands while capital city Malé recovers. The numbers have now slowly started to decrease in some islands, however, citizens are still advised to strictly obey HPA guidelines and remain at home as much a possible.
