Kaafu Atoll, Maldives – Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) reports that the Fire and Rescue are responding to a fire at Ritz-Carlton SPA, Maldives located near K. Gamarugiri.
The fire was reported at 12:29 with the Fire and Rescue Squad was dispatched to the location. MNDF states that it is a fire at a water villa in the resort.
An MNDF team is travelling to the resort. The fire is reportedly under control at this time.
UPDATE – 15:35
The resort employees extinguished the fire at 13:25. The fire resulted in major property damage with the most destruction concentrated at the bathroom and ceiling.
No people were injured in the fire.
