Covid-19 measures in Kulhudhufushi City strengthened

Kulhudhufushi City, Maldives – Preventive measures in HDh. Kulhudhufushi have been further strengthened due to the worsening Covid-19 situation in the island.

Former member of Kulhudhufushi Council said giving information to local media outlet Sun, that the Covid-19 measures implemented in the island have been further strengthened due to the increasing number of cases, and will take effect from today onwards.

The measures including banning going out in groups and even banning going to the beach in groups. Along with this, parks and public areas have also been closed, and going from one house to another house without a valid reason has been banned.

Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital reports that 9 new positive cases were reported as of 1 August 2021. With the 9 cases the total active cases crossed the half-century mark, recorded at 51.

Maldives is now recovering from Covid-19 after the recent Covid-19 wave which startled the entire country. 115 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the past 24 hours. This includes 23 cases from Malé City. According to the recent statistics released by HPA, there are currently 20 Covid-19 patients admitted at Covid facilities throughout the nation. This number was recently over 200.
