Malé, Maldives – A fire broke out last night in an overwater villa at Niyama Private Islands Maldives.
Sources inform that the fire broke out at approximately 20:30 last night at the luxurious resort, Niyama Maldives. While the resort investigated the cause of the fire along with damages, an official from Niyama informed that preliminary findings showed that the fire resulted due to a short circuit.
The official also informed that luckily no one was injured during the fire incident as no one inside the villa when the fire broke out.
Niyama Private Islands Maldives is a 40-minute seaplane journey south of Malé or a 30-minute domestic flight to Dhaalu Atoll followed by a seven-minute speedboat transfer to the resort.
