Male’, Maldives – The ongoing development of Addu City, Feydhoo’s asphalt road “Rahdhebaimagu”, undertaken by Indian GK Developments Pvt Ltd, was noted to be speedily reaching completition.
The development of the much-anticipated asphalt road began recently, however, local media Addu Live reported that much of the work has already reached the final stages.
After a short hiatus due to the COVID-19 situation across the southernmost atoll, the road development work has resumed, with the contracted company confirming that the development of Addu City’s roads was back to making swift progress.
GKD was awarded the contract to develop asphalt roads and resurface the main roads of Maradhoo, Maradhoofeydhoo, Feydhoo islands, in addition to Feydhoo’s Rahdhebai Magu. Furthermore, GKD has also completed its requirement to repair the asphalt roads of Hithadhoo, as well as part of the main link road stretching from Hithadhoo to Gan.
Addu City’s Mayor Ali Nizar conveyed the atoll’s sincere thanks to the Indian company for their kind assistance in repairing the roads of Addu City.
He also extended his gratitude to Deputy Mayor Mohamed Shuau, Councillor Zareer Hussain and the council’s project section staff for their tireless efforts to facilitate the process.
