Malé, Maldives – The Criminal Court on Thursday, has remanded 3 locals arrested for kidnapping a 17 year old in Sh. Atoll for 15 days.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) arrested three individuals for kidnapping a 17 year old from an island in Sh. Atoll yesterday.
While the minor was kidnapped on this Sunday night, Police received information of the murder on the following day. An investigation on this case began on Tuesday after a team from MPS and Gender Ministry dispatched to the island. Local news Mihaaru reports that Gender Ministry has confirmed the minor’s safety.
According to the Police, a 31 year old male and two 26 year old males were arrested on Tuesday under a court order over the kidnapping case.The authorities have refrained from revealing the reason for the kidnapping along with the details of the injuries the teenager suffered due to the sensitivity of the case.
