Doha, Qatar – A high level delegation from Maldives, including the Finance and Economic Ministers, have met with several Qatari counterparts in an official visit to enhance Qatar-Maldives bilateral relations.
The Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail and Finance Minister Ibrahim Ameer met with the Minister of Commerce and Industry and Acting Minister of Finance, H E Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari earlier today. The meeting reviewed avenues for cooperation and enhancement for the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
The delegation also included the President’s Office Chief of Staff Ali Zahir.
The Maldives delegation also met with the First Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber H E Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari at the Chamber’s headquarters yesterday.
The Qatar Chamber Vice Chairman expressed the readiness of the Qatar Chamber to inform Qatari investors on the investment opportunities available in the Maldives while the Maldives Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail thanked the Chamber for the meeting and invited Qatari investors to invest in the Maldives in various sectors including tourism and food processing.
The Peninsula reports that both parties discussed holding a meeting between Qatari businessmen and their Maldivian counterparts to review areas of corporation between the two countries to establish commercial alliances.
