Addu City, Maldives – The Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) has started conducting Otolaryngology (ENT) surgeries at the southern hospital.
Dr Aishath Ali working at the ENT Department of the AEH said that this is a tremendous milestone for the hospital, hoping for further advancements in the field.
At present, ENT surgeries scheduled at AEH include tonsil surgery, adenoid operations. septorhinoplasty, thyroid surgery, parotid surgery and frenulectomy.
Addu Equatorial Hospital has recently implemented a system to shorten the appointment queue process by establishing OPDs at island health centres.
AEH, formerly known as Hithadhoo Regional Hospital, based in the southern most area of the country provides health care services on a large scale, ranging from Addu City to even atolls located in the central region. The hospital was upgraded to a tertiary level hospital during 2020.
