Addu City, Maldives – The government of Maldives has arranged domestic charter flights as requested by Resort Life.

The Managing Director of Resort life Mohamed Shaaz Waleed, currently in the process of resuming operations at Canareef Resort located in Addu City, on Friday shared concerns regarding the lack of support of the government in efforts to revive tourism in the southernmost Addu City.

Canareef resort located in Addu City is expected to reopen with 140 operational rooms in the near future and requires flight arrangements to the city.

Following Waleed’s tweets, Addu Mayor Ali Nizar stated that discussions are in progress to find solutions to issues.

The public express hope for sustainable revival of tourism in the “neglected region.” While two major resorts in Addu City remain closed, the government has allocated Hankede for real estate tourism.
