Malé, Maldives – The Maldives Police Service confirmed today that they are investigating the case of a hand grenade found in an uninhabited island in the Maldives.
Police state that the grenade was found in Sh. Maashigiri on January 1 and have now been handed over to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).
While some local visitors found the explosive on the Shaviyani atoll island, the island is under the management of Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture.
Police have not revealed any further information on the case.
