Malé, Maldives – President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and Speaker of the parliament Mohamed Nasheed have departed on official trips to UAE and Sri Lanka today.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih departed this morning on an official visit for Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). He is travelling to the UAE at the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces.
President Solih would on Monday attend the opening ceremony of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) and the ceremony to present the Zaid Sustainability Prize. He is accompanied by a high-level government delegation.
Former President and incumbent Speaker of the Maldives Parliament Mohamed Nasheed departed to Sri Lanka today at the invitation of Minister of Youth and Sports, Minister of Development Coordination and Monitoring and State Minister of Digital Technology and Enterprise Development Namal Rajapaksa.
Speaker Nasheed will attend the second session of the fifth Sri Lankan Youth Parliament as the chief guest. The session aims to foster leadership skills among the Sri Lankan youth.
The Speaker will meet with Sri Lankan leaders and foreign investors.
