Addu City, Maldives – Addu Emergency Operations Center (Addu EOC) reveals that Addu City has surpassed 800 active Covid-19 cases.
The statistics released by Addu EOC shows that with the additional 143 cases confirmed yesterday, the total number of confirmed cases in Addu City has risen to 4,579 with 15 fatalities.
At present, the highest number of active cases are in Hithadhoo with 374 cases, followed by Feydhoo with 148 active Covid-19 cases and Maradhoo with 63 cases, while Maradhoofeydhoo has 39 cases. Addu EOC informs that there are 107 active cases in Meedhoo and 69 active cases in Hulhudhoo.
Amid the escalating number of cases due to Omicron virus, also confirmed present in the southernmost city, the main public hospital Addu Equatorial Hospital has stopped visiting homes to collect samples and established sample collection centers.
Covid-19 management have also been delegated to districts to better manage the pandemic crisis situation.
