Addu City, Maldives – The Mayor of Addu City Ali Nizar has tested positive for Covid-19 today.
In a tweet, Mayor Nizar confirmed that he had tested positive for the virus. He further said that he was “feeling fine” and only exhibiting minor symptoms.
The Mayor urged everyone to be safe and exercise precautions such as wearing masks and washing hands.
As of Friday, Addu City reported 91 new cases were tested positive with 722 active cases in the city.
While Hithadhoo has reported an alarming 328 active case with 33 positive cases in 24 hours, Feydhoo trails behind with 115 cases. Maradhoo has 97 cases while connected Maradhoofeydhoo has 64.
Meedhoo and Hulhudhoo have 46 and 68 active cases respectively. Four active cases were reported from others.
