Addu City, Maldives – Nephrologist and Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Ahmed Tarek Srour, one of the most popular doctors among the people of southern atolls of the Maldives, is leaving Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH).
The Syrian born doctor, who has worked in Addu for many years is set to depart back to his home country sometime mid March. An official of AEH confirmed that Dr. Tarek’s departure from the hospital was initiated upon the doctor’s request and that he will be returning back to Syria to serve a hospital there.
Locals have since taken to social media to express their sorrow over the news of his departure, with many reflecting back to times they were treated by Dr. Tarek.
Over the years, Dr. Tarek, his kind nature and his professionalism with his patients has won over the hearts of all Addu and southern atolls.
