Japan donates MVR 1.2 million to Mukurimagu School

Gan, Laamu Atoll – The Japanese government has donated MVR 1.2 million to build two classrooms in Mukurimagu School of Laamu Atoll, Gan.

The aid was provided under the “Grass Root Human Security Project” (GGP) of Japan. Under the agreement of donation, the two classrooms to be built under the project would be specialised for LKG and UKG classes. Additionally, the funds can also be utilised to build an emergency evacuation shelter, said the Japanese Embassy based in Maldives.

The agreement was signed by Her Excellency Takeuchi Midori, Japanese Ambassador to the Maldives, on behalf of the Japanese government; and Abdullah Shareef, Principal of Mukurimagu School, on behalf of the school.
