Malé, Maldives – Bank of Maldives (BML) staff have held a clean-up event at the Male’ Swimming Track and Hulhumale’ Phase 2 beach area on 18th March, to coincide with the International Day of Happiness celebrated annually on 20th March.
The event was held from 6:00 am to 9:00 am on Friday, in partnership with Swimming Association of Maldives, Parley, Dive Desk and Dive Club Maldives.
A total of 660 kg of debris and waste was collected from both locations including 84 kg of plastic which was delivered to Parley for recycling.
Over 80 BML volunteers participated in the community work carried out on Friday. Last year, BML celebrated the day by doing various activities to support local communities in V. Felidhoo, L. Fonadhoo and HDh. Kulhudhuffushi.
