Malé, Maldives – Maldives Police Service on Monday announced that they have arrested a suspected drug peddler operating in Addu City.
A 34-year-old Maldivian man was arrested in Addu City after substances suspected to be drugs were found on his person during a stop and search on 19 March 2021. The man was searched following information of alleged drug peddling.
Twenty-nine rubber packets, 1 bullet sized rubber packet and 2 cellophane packets were found during the search.
A 30-year-old Maldivian was also arrested in ADh. Dhigurah after a search resulted in 2 packets of suspicious substances following intelligence of drug trafficking via dinghy.
Police are currently investigating both cases.
