The Elections Commissions also advised political parties to follow guidelines provided by the authorities in organizing political events and reiterated their support for all political events that abide by the law.

The Opposition coalition has planned a major political rally from 16:00 to 18:00 on Friday under the “India Out” campaign. The rally is scheduled to be held in the capital city Malé. Police have urged the public to not participate in the rally stating that the political event does not fall into guidelines of a peaceful rally.
