Parliament accidentally questions cabinet minister

Malé, Maldives – The Parliament of Maldives on Monday summoned and questioned Minister of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture Dr Hussain Rasheed Hassan by mistake.

The Minister who was supposed to answer questions by the parliament via written document was summoned to the parliament and questioned for half an hour before a parliamentarian brought the mistake to attention.

The Minister was accidentally brought in for questions submitted by MP Abdulla Waheed of Dhidhdhoo constituency regarding the HA. Dhidhdhoo ice plant project.

Fisheries Minister answered questions on the floor and stated that the Dhidhdhoo facility will be operational in March 2023.

Minister Hassan also pledged to install ice storage facilities in 200 boats by the end of the incumbent administration’s term.

The Minister was excused by the parliament due to their error.
