Malé, Maldives – The Government of Maldives on Tuesday released a statement condemning the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli nationalists during the Flag March in Jerusalem, desecrating the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The continuous and frequent nature of such immoral actions by Israel in the Al-Aqsa Mosque is in clear violation of international law and the relevant UN Security Council and General Assembly resolutions.
The Government of Maldives reaffirmed its solidarity with the people and the Government of Palestine and reiterated its steadfast commitment to work closely with the international community to advocate the cause of Palestine. The Maldives also reminded the international community of their obligation to promote and protect the full enjoyment of fundamental rights of the Palestinian people.
