Malé, Maldives – Local news “Dhauru” reports that a man wearing a black t-shirt with the Islamic State (IS) logo has interrupted the Friday prayers at King Salman Mosque in the capital city Malé.
UPDATE: Police confirm that a 43 year old Maldivian man was arrested at King Salman Mosque after an incident of public disturbance was reported at 12:24 today.
According to local news, a man wearing a t-shirt with the IS logo climbed on the imam’s podium and started yelling. The man reportedly refused to climb down from the podium despite requests by the imam.
The man was finally removed by the police after he caused damage to property. The man was removed from the premises in handcuffs.
Police are not investigating the case.
