Male’, Maldives – Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Saturday received 36 mini buses in Male’ some of which are to be transferred to regional hubs including Addu City.
CEO of MTCC Adam Azim detailed that these buses will be operated in the capital city Male’ and regional hubs; Addu City, Fuvahmulah City and Laamu Atoll. Azim added that the company is preparing to commence operations in all the cities on July 31.
MTCC will deliver mini buses to the atolls at the earliest possible date.
These 36 buses are part of a 41 mini bus shipment ordered by MTCC in their effort to introduce mini buses to the Maldives. The rest of the buses are scheduled to be received on July 18.
The company highlights that while 12 of the 41 mini buses are to be used in the capital city, the rest will be divided to the three atolls.
MTCC’s Our Mini series of buses have the passenger capacity of 25 people, with 20 seats and special arrangements for people with disabilities.
