Addu City, Maldives – Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) expanded the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) to the southernmost Addu City with the launch of the minibus service.
The RTL services were also launched in population-dense Fuvahmulah City and Laamu Atoll parallel with Addu City on Sunday.
RTL minibus services are provided by MTCC under a 50-year agreement with the Government of Maldives.
Thirteen buses were dispatched to Addu City, 6 to Laamu Atoll and 4 to Fuvahmulah City.
This new addition will increase the bus routes in Addu City within the connected islands by 4 additional routes while 4 routes will also be added for Hulhumeedhoo.
MTCC states that 41 buses have been procured for the project with passenger capacity of 25 people, with 20 seats and special arrangements for people with disabilities.

Toddlers under three years of age, elderly people over sixty five, school students and disabled people will travel for free in these buses even after August 14.
