Vice President calls on public to cooperate with Police

Malé, Maldives – Vice President Faisal Naseem on Thursday has called on the public to cooperate with the police in an effort to strengthen law enforcement across the country.

The Vice President made this remark at the ceremony held to commemorate Police Service Day at Iskandar Koshi this morning. 

The Vice President said that maintaining the public’s confidence in law enforcement requires providing unbiased service in line with the police professional standards. He then praised the progress the police have made in protecting the people. 

The Vice President encouraged collaborative efforts from the public and the police to bring about peace and development across the country. He appealed to the public to assist law enforcement in achieving their goal of maintaining harmony.  

In his remarks, the Vice President also highlighted the administration’s efforts in maintaining peace in the nation and noted the work being done to keep young people away from drugs.  

At today’s ceremony, the Vice President presented commemorative plaques to long-serving staff. Police Service Day is commemorated annually on 1 September.
