VP launches Neighbourhood Policing Service in Upper South Police Division

Male’, Maldives – Vice President Faisal Naseem has officially launched ‘Neighbourhood Policing Service’ in the Upper South Police Division.

The service was launched at a special ceremony held in Gaafu Alifu Atoll Education Centre by VP Faisal this morning. Delivering his remarks at the ceremony, the Vice President emphasised on the prominence attached by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and his administration to cultivating peace and in creating harmony within our society.

During his speech, VP Faisal said that we are now enjoying the fruits of the continuous labours of this Administration’s efforts to strengthen the Police Service and in making the institution more public friendly. He also expressed his sincere gratitude to the Police Service for the unwavering assistance rendered to the public during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Vice President then presented a commemorative plaque on behalf of the Police Services to the people of Gaafu Alifu and Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll. The plaque was accepted by the Councillors of both Atolls. Moreover, Vice President visited Gaafu Alif Atoll Hospital and enquired about the arrangements and measures in place regarding the Covid-19 situation.
