Addu City, Maldives – A fire has erupted in an area close to Addu Equatorial Hospital, and is currently spreading.
Times of Addu’s correspondent on scene reports that fire and rescue services are on scene, attempting to control the fire, but that it is still spreading. With limited man power and resources, the feat appears to be difficult.
Images from the location show thick smoke coming from the wetland area near the tertiary hospital.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
