Malé, Maldives – The stock of Maldivian Rufiyaa 50 note that is currently in circulation in the Maldivian economy is low, revealed the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA).
Due to this, MMA has reprinted and received a new shipment of the MVR 50 notes of the Randhiha Faheh (Golden 50) note series, which arrived in the country on Sunday.
However, the notes have not yet been released into circulation and are currently held in the state treasury.
This is not the first time MMA has had to reprint notes of the Randhiha Faheh series due to shortages. Back in 2018, MVR 10 and MVR 100 notes were also reprinted, while MVR 20 notes were reprinted as recent as 2021.
The newly printed Randhiha Faheh notes will maintain the same high security features of the other Randhiha Faheh series and are printed on polymer paper. This series was introduced in November 2015.
