Addu City, Maldives – Two students from Hira School in Addu City will be participating in this year’s 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 27) in Egypt.
Two students from the school in Hithadhoo left today to attend the summit.
Hira School, which also received the “Zayed Sustainability Award” from the UAE government in January this year, is participating in COP27 with its Grade 10 students Aisha Sara Ahmed and Izan Mashood.
The two students will represent Zaid Sustainability at the summit. Zayed Sustainability also selected the children to participate in the summit.
Hira won the Zayed Sustainability Award in the South Asian Global High School category. The award is named after the founder of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Hira said it was a great honor to have the opportunity to participate in the World Environment Summit organized by the United Nations. And this is a great achievement.
